Jimmy B. Bird, son of Joe and Katie (Locust) Bird was born January 6, 1927 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord on August 16, 2012 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma at the age 85 years, 8 months and 10 days.

Jimmy was an auctioneer for many years. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather to his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons; Blue and DJ Bird, brothers; Charlie Bird, George Locust, Charlie Locust, sisters; Opal Sevenstar, Anita Bird, Marie Cheater and Louella Taylor.

He is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife; Leona Bird of Stilwell, OK, children; Ida Seaton and husband Harold, Mary Duncan, Dione Byrd and wife Retta all of Sallisaw, OK, Dwayne Byrd of Stilwell, Ok, Kathy Bailey and husband John of Roland, OK, Leo Bird and wife Brenda, Virgil Bird, Daisy Duncan and husband Clarence, Joann Watie all of Stilwell, OK, adopted daughter; Billie Carter of Sallisaw, Ok. Sisters; Lydia Eagle, Annie Sevenstar both of Muldrow, OK, Annie Blackbird of Vian, OK, Polly Christie and Mary Taylor both of Sallisaw, OK, 30 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Salem Baptist Church with Bro. Lawrence Eagle and Bro. Jimmy Lee Henson officiating.

Interment followed at Salem Cemetery.
