Betty (Smith) Bird daughter of Levi Smith and Lydia Hothouse was born February 16, 1921 at home in Sequoyah County, and departed this life to be with our Lord on July 30, 2013 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 92 years, 5 months, and 14 days.
She enjoyed her life, spending time with her children and grandchildren also searching for anything wild and eatable in the woods, sewing quilts, going to church, planting flowers, and caring for them. Her past time was doing word search, watching General Hospital, and doing her puzzle.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband; John Bird, her parents, two brothers, two sisters, 1 son, 2 daughters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is survived by a very loving family that includes her children; Laura Bunch and husband George of Bunch, Johnny Bird and wife Shirley of Tahlequah, OK, Sammy Bird and wife Lillie Mae of Bunch, Wesley Bird of Bunch, John Junior Bird and wife Marcella of Marble City, Charlene Locust, Shirley Fourkiller both of Stilwell, Fabian Bird and companion Sara Hillis of Colcord, Terry Bird and wife Renee of Stilwell, Gary Bird and wife Annalisa of Bunch. One brother; Frank Mink, 59 grandchildren, 125 great grandchildren, 90 great great grandchildren, 4 great, great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her.
Funeral services at 1 pm on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Bro. Gary Leach and Bro. Jimmy Briggs officiating. Interment followed at Rock Fence Cemetery.
