Austin Lee Ford
August 4, 1918 - September 17, 2006
Austin Lee Ford was born August 4, 1918 in Stilwell, Oklahoma to Laben and Azlee Ford and departed this life on September 17, 2006 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of eighty-eight years, one month and thirteen days.
On December 16, 1941 he was united in marriage to Mary Virginia Cochran in Carthage, MO.
To this union brought four children; Ronnie, Joyce, Marilyn and Max.
Austin served his country for four years during which time he served in World War II.
He was a life long farmer and a founder of the Guiding Light Church.
Austin was a loving family man, a dedicated father, a wonderful grandfather and a faithful servant of God.
Austin is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ralph Ford and William "Talmadge" Ford; three sisters, Pauline Boquist, May Steinsick and Melba Ford, and one grandson Vincent Ford.
Austin is survived by his wife Virginia, four children, Ronnie Ford and wife Dawn, Joyce Girdner and husband Charlie Dean Girdner, Marilyn Dandridge and husband Melvin, Max Ford and wife Karen, three brothers, Harold Ford, Haskell Ford and Clarence Ford, two sisters, Waleah Jackson and Maud Jones, six granddaughters, four grandsons, six great grand-children, a special son Blue Hothouse and many friends and loved ones.
Funeral services were held Thurday, September 21, 2006 with Bro. Monroe Lowrimore and Bro. Leon McDowell officiating.
Interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
