Mrs. Kate LACIE

Funeral service for Mrs. Kate LACIE, 73, was held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in Roberts Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Willie PADGETT of Sallisaw officiating.
The Dolly O'NEAL Quartet sang "Empty Mansion," "I'm Bound for That Mansion," and "I've Been Waiting."
Mrs. LACIE, of Cherokee Indian descent, was born in the East Peavine community southeast of Westville, Indian Territory (now Okla.) November 1, 1888, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward WALKINGSTICK, and died Saturday, February 24 in the Stilwell hospital.
She and Walter LACIE, son of Adam and Jennie LACIE, were married January 9, 1906, in his home and moved just across the road from the original LACIE allotment, to establish their home, where their children were born, and where they have continued to live.
Interment was in the family cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home. Pallbearers were J.C. WALKINGSTICK, Jasper WALKINGSTICK, Clifford WALKINGSTICK, Edward WALKINGSTICK, J.H. BAGBY and Walter KINDLE. Flower bearers were Mrs. Faye JOHNSON, Mrs. Hazel CARMICHAEL, Mrs. Betty SELF, Mrs. Margaret BAGBY, Mrs. Elizabeth ROSS, Mrs. Ova STALCUP.
Survivors include her husband Walter LACIE; a son, Bud LACIE, Westville; two daughters, Mrs. Eulalia PILGRIM, Westville, Mrs. Juanita MAYS, Wendell, Calif.; ten grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
