Derrick Sonny Miller was born on August 17, 1987 in Stilwell, Oklahoma to Leroy Struble and Lydia Miller. He passed from this life on Thursday, October 24, 2019 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 32 years, 2 months and 7 days.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved his wife, Sam, and his children. Derrick enjoyed doing everything with his children. He loved having get-togethers, so he could barbecue for everyone.

Derrick was a pole barn builder for 14 years. He had his own business and his brother, Dusty, his aunt, Connie and cousin, Matt were his crew.

He married Samantha Cooper on August 29, 2014, but they were together for 7 years.

He was preceded in death by his father: Leroy Struble and grandparents: Fred and Goldie Brown.

Derrick leaves behind a loving family that includes his wife: Samantha Miller and children: Shane, Ryleigh and Brenleigh Miller, of the home in Stilwell, mother: Lydia Miller, sister: Julie Ford, brothers: Dusty Dotson of Stilwell, Leroy Struble of New Mexico. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins also survive him.


Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel, Stilwell, Oklahoma with Pastor James Brunk of Cookson Baptist Church officiating.

Interment followed at Freewater Cemetery, Stilwell, under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
