Alex "A.G" Rider
May 7, 1922 - April 12, 2006
Alex "A.G." Rider passed from this life Wednesday, April 12, 2006 in Stilwell at the age of 83 years. He was born May 7, 1922 in Bunch to Joseph and Sukie (Squirrell) Rider
A. G. attended various area schools including Sequoyah. He married C. Marie Murphy April 6, 1954 in Tulsa. He and his family returned to Bunch in 1968. A. G. worked for the railroad for about 30 years, pastured at several churches for about 25 years, was a member of United Indian Methodist Church in Stilwell and enjoyed fishing and traveling.
A.G. is survived by his wife of 52 years, C. Marie Rider; 5 daughters: Wynema Craigg, Connie Rider, Glenda Peck, Christina Rider and Angela Guthrie; a sister, Eva Talon; 20 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Sukie Rider; 3 sons: Rex Rider, Joseph J. Rider and Buddy Lee Rider; 2 sisters, Pollie Ketcher and Julie Young; and 2 brothers: Sam Rider and Bill Rider.
Services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2006 at United Indian Methodist Church in Stilwell. Interment followed at Rider Cemetery. Funeral arrangements directed by Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
