Shirley Hummingbird

Shirley Hummingbird was born October 9, 1950, in Stilwell, Oklahoma to Ulus and Elizabeth Denny. She departed this life May 10, 2011, in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 60 years, seven months and 1 day.
Shirley was married to Gary Hummingbird in Pryor, Oklahoma on March 19, 1975. She worked various businesses as a secretary and retired from Carl Albert Indian Hospital in Ada.
Shirley loved her family, especially her one-year-old grandson. She loved going to church while her health permitted. Shirley also loved to fish.
She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, sister, Pat Duvall and brother-in-law, George Duvall. Shirley is survived by her husband, Gary Hummingbird, daughter, Amanda Hummingbird and grandson, Nathaniel, all of the home. Other survivors include one brother, Bill Denny, of Chouteau; two sisters, Carol Shell and husband, William, of Vian, Becky Hart, and husband, Dennis, of Stilwell; sister-in-law, Tami Vann, of Stilwell; nieces, Sonya Springwater, Renee Wolfe and Stacy Hart, all of Stilwell and special friend, Cherie Farris, of Coalgate.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2011, at Fairfield Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Weathers officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
