Dennis Gonzales was born on June 22, 1930 to Jones and Eliza (Livers) Gonzales. Dennis was married to Dorothy Jean Doublehead in November 1954. To this union were born four children: Ronnie, Rhonda, Matilyn and Lisa.
Dennis was ordained into the Lord’s Ministry in January 1963 and his ministry continued until his reunion with our Lord, Jesus Christ. During his ministry, he pastured many churches and traveled singing and playing the Lord’s music with his brothers and sisters, The Gonzales Family.
Dennis worked in maintenance at the W.W. Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah until his retirement. Dennis enjoyed carpentry work, playing the fiddle and making people smile.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Dorothy Jean, daughter: Marilyn, brothers: Andy, Cale and John Jr., sisters: Louella Proctor, Sadie Hummingbird and Dorothy Hummingbird.
Those surviving him are Ronnie Gonzales and wife Rita, Rhonda Gonzales, Lisa Hernandez and husband Joe, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother: Leo Gonzales and sisters: Mae Jean Littledeer, Louise Mounce, many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10 am on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Fairfield Church, Stilwell, OK with Rev. Gary Bunch and Rev. Gary Leach officiating. Interment followed at Doublehead Cemetery, Stilwell under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
