Lila Meeks, daughter of Chester and Oma (Runabout) Jones, was born on January 2, 1956 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with her Lord in Heaven on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 59 years, 9 months and 15 days, while surrounded by loved ones.

Lila worked for Stilwell Foods, now Schwan’s, for 43 years and rarely missed work. She loved spending time with her family, especially her sisters and grandsons. She loved going shopping and taking walks until her health failed. She never missed a family gathering or birthday party which she always had a gift for the birthday person.

Lila gave her life to the Lord at an early age and served him faithfully. She loved going to church, was strong in her faith and a prayer warrior. She would pray for anyone who asked or who had a need. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Lila married the love of her life, Glen Meeks, on April 24, 1982 and to this union three children were born: Lindsey Raven Meeks, Logan Gabe Meeks and Shelby Ruth Meeks.

Lila is preceded in death by her parents: Chester and Oma Jones, four brothers; John Douglas Sawney, George Jones, Billy Ray Jones and William Jones, three sisters: Nancy (Martin) Mudd, Barbara (Jones) Catron and Cherokee Jones and an infant son: Logan Meeks.

Lila is survived by her husband: Glen Meeks of the home, two daughters: Lindsey Meeks and Shelby Meeks of the home and two grandsons: Traedyn Setser and Kaezdyn Setser, also of the home in Stilwell, OK, one brother: John Jones and wife Joann, five sisters: Jacqueline Catron and husband Jim, Ella Mae Wilson and husband Clifford, Gwendolyn Eddings and husband Joe, Gail Scraper and husband David, all of Stilwell, Vivian Baber of Westville, OK, sister-in-law: Donna Wolf of Westville, and A LOT of nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. Rest in peace Lila, you are truly and deeply loved.

Funeral services were held at 1 pm on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Sequoyah Baptist Church, Stilwell, OK with Bro. Robert Doba and Bro. Steve Campbell officiating. Interment followed at Clear Springs Cemetery, Stilwell, OK under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
