Warren Jay Turner, son of Edward Warren and Dicie Mildred (McCoy) Turner, was born on December 9, 1927 in Morton, Texas and passed from this life on Friday, January 11, 2013 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years, 1 month and 2 days.
Warren served his country proudly during the Korean War. He loved every moment spent surrounded by his family. The Lord blessed him with a green thumb. He could grow anything. Warren enjoyed gardening and liked to grow 40-50 pound pumpkins. Many days he could be found tinkering on old cars and tractors. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceding him in death were his parents: Warren and Dicie Turner, wife: Helen, son: Kenneth Turner, brothers: Paul, Buz and Roy Turner, three infant brothers and sisters.
Warren is survived by a large family that includes his children: Stan Turner and wife Vicki of Fayetteville, AR, Vincent Turner and wife Debbie of Winslow, AR, Patsy Maxwell and husband Dennis of Stilwell, OK, grandchildren: Aaron and Sierra Turner of Fayetteville, Jason Chastain and wife Felicia, Angela Hubler and husband Sid, Keni and Logan Turner, Joshua Maxwell, Samantha and Jordan Garris, all of Stilwell, great grandchildren: Brooke and Lauren Chastain, Kaitlynn, Emmalee and Phillip Leak, Remi Westmoreland, Braxton Garris, of Stilwell, great great grandchild: Blakelon Hubler of Stilwell, sisters: Barbara Stratton of Stilwell, Shirley Hice and Joanne Johnson, both of Springdale, AR. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services to be held at 2 pm on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Lester Shadrick and Dwain Maxwell officiating. Interment followed at Chalk Bluff Cemetery.
