Unknown Railroad worker

Submitted by: Jan Ray Lockard

Junior Kimble said he and the Cavin boys restored this grave.

Several people have stated they beleive this is one of the oldest graves in the cemetery, but can't remember his name if they ever knew.

Per Jan Ray Lockard -- her father Arch Ray came to this area in 1913. The grave was there when he came. He stated that this man was a railroad worker who and was buried at this spot on the hill side overlooking the valley and railroad tracks.

Jan remembers asking her father if the man was killed while working on the railroad. His reply was he did not think so, he remembered hearing that he just got sick and died. He did not recall hearing his name.

The railroad was built in this area about 1897-1898 per Jan.
