Homer Howard Fuson
April 13, 1918 - December 31, 2005
Homer Howard Fuson, was born in Madison, Co., Kentucky on April 13, 1918 to Benjamin Harrison Fuson and Drusillar Bray. He departed this life December 31, 2005 in Tahlequah, OK., at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 17 days.
Mr. Fuson was a Veteran serving in the United States Army with the 89th Field Artillery Battalion during World War 11 where he earned the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, World Ware 11 Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He worked at Greenleaf Nursery for many years as long as his health permitted.
Homer married Myrtle Chaffin March 6, 1936, and she preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his parents, and one son Raymond, one brother James Fuson and five sisters, Dorothy Cole, Lorrine James, Elizabeth Guthrie, Lola Williams and Francis Cole, one daughter-in-law: Dora Fuson and six grandchildren: Carol Sue Fuson, Carol Lynn Fuson, Tommy Ray Fuson, Lezlie Ann Fuson, Tonya Scott Sanders and Randy (Hoppy) Scott.
He is survived by sons Ivan Fuson and wife Kitty of Welling, Vernon Fuson and wife Coriena of Stilwell, Larry Fuson of Stilwell, Marvin Fuson and wife Linda of Tahlequah, Norman Fuson and wife Pam of Stilwell; and one daughter, Debra Scott and husband Ray of Welling. He is also survived by two sisters, Flora Skuse of Tulsa and Betty Sorries of Claremore, one daughter-in-law: Tomye Ruth Fuson, 20 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren, he leaves behind many relatives and friends to morn his passing. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Services were held Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at the Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Bro. Bill Roundtree and Bro. Terry Dowty officiating.
Interment followed in the Bunch Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
