Melvin Nathaniel Langley, son of Samson T and Katie Ruth (Brown) Langley, was born on May 11, 1960 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with his Lord on Friday, October 28, 2011 in Westville, Oklahoma at the age of 51 years, 5 months and 17 days.
He was a lifelong member of the Westville Community. He graduated from Westville High School in 1979 and then served his country proudly for four years in the U.S. Army. Melvin drove a truck for Simmons Foods and for the Family business, Langley Feeds.
He married Charity Williams on March 18, 2006 and they were blessed with a daughter, Hannah.
He was a member of Jay Bird Church for his entire life. Melvin was a quiet man, but was very friendly to all and strong in his beliefs and work ethic. He was always willing to help and lend a hand. Melvin touched the lives of many people and he will be missed by all who were blessed to have known him.
Surviving Melvin is his wife: Charity Langley and daughter: Hannah of the home near Westville, OK, parents: Sam and Katie Langley of Westville, brothers: Paul Langley and wife Judy Ann of Westville, Tim Langley and wife Lynne of Siloam Springs, AR, Marvin Langley and wife Glenda Sue of Westville, sisters: Gail Stice and husband Jerry of Westville, LaFern Johnson and husband Randy of Ada, OK. Melvin is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Assembly of God Church, Westville with Bro. Haskell Rycroft and Pastor T.J. Tipton officiating. Interment followed at Old Baptist Mission Cemetery.
