Hazel Martha Scheuerman

March 28, 1923 ~ April 29, 2019

Hazel Martha, daughter of Rachel Mae (Ellison) and James Wesley Wait, was born March 28, 1923, in Rodney, Colorado. She passed away April 29, 2019, in Enid, Oklahoma, at the age 96 years, 1 month and 1 day.

Graveside services will be held at Union Cemetery, Quinlan, Oklahoma, on Monday, May 6, 2019, at 1 p.m. Wharton Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

On February 21, 1950, Hazel married Floyd Scheuerman in Enid, Oklahoma.

Hazel was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and cooking. She made the most wonderful pies. She loved spending time outside helping her husband on the farm. She also loved going dancing, playing cards, bingo and dominoes.

She worked as a cook at the VIP Supper Club for 28 years when she moved to Kremlin to be closer to family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; her parents; two daughters, Freda Hibbs and Bonnie Sherwood; four sisters, Louise Calloway, Lucille Watson, Carlene Stewart and Arlene Tuck; and a brother, Lloyd D. Wait.

Hazel is survived by her beloved children and their families, James and Diane Van Deest, Joyce and Artie Kamm, Rachel Scheuerman, an adopted granddaughter Jennifer Chestnut and Floyd E. Scheuerman. She is also survived by a brother, Joe Burton Wait; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who love and already miss her; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
