BILLY CARTER

February 28, 1949 - April 4, 2018

Billy Carter, 69 year old Fargo resident, died Wednesday, April 4, 2018 in Vici. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Fargo Church of the Nazarene in Fargo, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in the South Persimmon Cemetery, east of Sharon. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Billy Ray Carter was born on February 28, 1949 in Duncan, Oklahoma at a little under 17 pounds to Allen Lafayette and Emma Francis (Sneed) Carter. Bill grew up in Duncan and attended Duncan schools. At 17 years of age, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country during Vietnam.

He was united in marriage to Belinda Ann Young on June 11, 1976 in Canadian, Texas. They made their first home in Woodward before moving to Fargo in 1985. To this union two sons were born, Mark and Michael. Bill worked as a carpenter building homes as well as home remodeling.

He attended the Fargo Church of the Nazarene. Bill enjoyed wood working and fishing and he loved being with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Belinda Carter of the home; one son, Mark Carter and wife Amanda of Woodward; daughter-in-law, Andrea Roberts of Sharon; grandchildren: Alex Carter, Peyton Carter, Trustin Carter, Kash Carter, Kayd Carter; three sisters, Fran Brown of Gurdon, Arkansas, Wanda Hightower and husband Mike of Holdenville, Christine Attaway and husband Terry of Marlow; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Allen Carter and Michael Carter, one sister Louise Hassenplug, and one brother Bob Carter.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fargo Nazarene Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
