A funeral service for Jerry Dee Wight, 67, of Woodward, will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2009, at Billings Funeral Home Chapel, Woodward. The Rev. Brett Allen will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie View Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 15, 1941, in Los Angeles to Archie and Beatrice Goertz Wight and died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, in Enid. He was raised in Enid, where he attended school.

He served in the Air Force from 1959 until 1961, when he was honorably discharged. He married Donna Marie George Dec. 16, 1973, and they made their home in Woodward. He was an owner-operator truck driver most of his life. He played guitar and participated in bluegrass festivals.

Surviving are his wife, Donna; four sons, Chris Wight, David Wight, Jody Wight and Kevin Wight, all of Bartlesville; two brothers, Jim Wight of Texas and Raymond Wight of Minnesota; and six grandchildren.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Jerry Wight Fund.
