JIMMIE CARL WHITAKER

6 Jun 1938 - 27 Dec 2008

The graveside service for Jimmie Carl Whitaker, 70, Enid, formerly of Mooreland, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, in Mooreland Cemetery. The Rev. Gaylon Cox will officiate. Arrangements are by Billings Funeral Home, Mooreland.

He was born June 6, 1938, in Alva to Morton Carl and Helen Elizabeth Lierman Whitaker and died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, in Enid.

He was raised on a farm east of Bouse Junction and attended school in Cheyenne Valley, graduating from Cheyenne Valley High School in 1958. He helped his father on the family farm and ranch. He lived in Mooreland from 1973 to 1999, when he moved to Veteran Acres in Enid where he has lived since. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Mooreland Lions Club.

Surviving are one sister, Mary Whitaker of California.

He was preceded in death by one sister.
