JOSEPHINE STOUT

July 7, 1928 - February 2, 2018

Josephine Stout, 89 year old Mooreland resident, died Friday, February 2, 2018 in Mooreland. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Mooreland. Interment will follow.

Josephine (Kammerlocher) Stout was born on July 7, 1928 in Mooreland, Oklahoma to George and Emerentia (Siglmuller) Kammerlocher. Josephine grew up in Mooreland. She attended Woodward Junior College until it was destroyed by a tornado in 1947.

She married the love of her life, J. Alan Stout on November 23, 1948 in Bernalillo, New Mexico. They made their residence on the family farm near Mooreland. To this union, they were blessed with four children, Georgie, Patrick, Michael, and Amy Jo.

She worked as a telephone operator part time in high school during World War II. Her voice was the first one servicemen heard when they called home.

Josephine loved plants, flowers, and trees, and especially children. She was happiest when she was working outside in her yard and garden. She also liked to crochet afghans. She gave away dozens.

She is survived by two sons: Patrick Stout and Michael Stout; two daughters: Georgie Evans, Amy Jo Leisure and husband Dave; one brother: Anton Kammerlocher; one sister, Mary Kammerlocher; she is also survived by three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.

Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, George and Emerentia, her husband, J. Alan, one brother, George, and one sister Emily McCrea.
