Woodward, Okla. — Marvin J. Pack, 83 year old Mooreland resident, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 16, 2012 St. Marys Hospital in Enid. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012 in the First Baptist Church in Mooreland with the Reverend Cal Hunter officiating. Burial will be in the Mooreland Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Marvin J. Pack was born on June 12, 1928 in Rush Springs, Oklahoma to Thomas Jackson and Iona (Wheeler) Pack. Marvin was reared in Rush Springs and attended school there. He was united in marriage to Billie "Jo" Stacy on June 21, 1947 in Rush Springs, Oklahoma. They made their home in Rush Springs before moving to Mooreland in 1961. They were blessed with two children, Marvin Randell and Rhenda Gay. Marvin started out as a Roughneck and worked his way up to Drilling Superintendent for Trigg Drilling Company. After 42 years, he retired from Tigg Drilling.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mooreland. Marvin enjoyed farming and ranching and he loved spending time with his family. He was a very quiet person until you got to know him and was always there to do for and help other people. He never wanted any recognition for the many good deeds he did. Marvin was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. His children always say that even though he only had an 8th grade education he was the "smartest man in the world." During his lifetime Marvin was a very successful Entrepreneur. He was an Oil Service Company owner, a Land Developer, Movie Theater owner, Clothing Store (Jo’s Fashinons) owner, Race Horse owner, Marvin Gardens Apartments owner and a long time farmer and rancher. His most important "job" was being a good husband, father, and papa.

He is survived his wife Jo Pack of the home in Mooreland; one son, Marvin Randell Pack of Mooreland; one daughter Rhenda Gay Wines of Mooreland; grandchildren, Renyssa Wines Berry and husband Jason of Weatherford, Valerie Shawndell and husband Joey of Woodward, Aaron Gregory Wines of Moore, Stacy Renee’ Pack, Deanna Randell Pack, Brook Lauren Pack; great-grandchildren, Renzy VelmaJo Berry, Jalen Packstyn Berry, step-great-grandchildren, Xara Hickman, and Xavin Hickman and one great-grandson due in June; other relatives and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Lucille Wrenn.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mooreland or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Heart Research with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
