LETHA ROSE "IKE" DUNBAR

October 10, 1925 - February 10, 2018

Letha Rose “Ike” Dunbar, 92 year old Mooreland resident, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church of Mooreland. Burial will follow in the Mooreland Cemetery.

Letha Rose (Ludden) Dunbar was born on October 10, 1925 in Curtis, Oklahoma to Andrew Z. and Maude Mae (Kinser) Ludden. She attended Curtis and Mooreland schools, graduating from Mooreland High School. Ike was united in marriage to Jerry O’Neal Dunbar on October 10, 1945 at Curtis, Oklahoma. They were blessed with two children, Guy O’Neal and Susan Rose. Ike and Jerry made their first home in San Diego, California before moving back to Mooreland. Ike worked with her husband forming their own business, Dunbar Livestock Transportation. Ike was also an auction clerk at the Woodward Livestock Auction and assisted her daughter and son-in-law as an auction clerk for Dakil Auctioneers.

Ike was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mooreland. She was a Certified Emergency Medical Technician. Ike loved being with her family and friends. She loved to prepare large meals for family and friends.....no one left her table hungry.

She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 72 years, Jerry Dunbar; one son, Guy Dunbar and wife Sharon; one daughter Susan Dakil and husband Louis; two granddaughters, Heather Wren Bradford; Kristin Leigh Bray and husband Barrett; three great-granddaughters: Madison Grace Bradford, Everleigh Rose Bray and Olivia Belle Bray; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Ruth Paris, Irene Weiszbrod and Aline Meyer.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Mooreland with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
