JENNIE BELVA "BETTY" ALLEY

21 May 1911 - 26 Mar 2004

Mooreland – a graveside service for Jennie Belva "Betty" Alley, 92, will be 10 AM Monday in Mooreland Cemetery. The Rev. Mike Smith will officiate. Arrangements are by Billings Funeral Home.

She was born May 21, 1911, in Vici to Samuel C. and Mary Maude McClaren Scott and died Friday, March 26, 2004, in Mooreland Heritage Manor.

She attended school in Vici and in Woodward, then began working for C. R. Anthony in Woodward. She married Claire David Alley on January 14, 1931, in Alva. She operated Cities Service Hotel from 1931 to 1935. The couple lived at the hotel, north of Mooreland. From 1935 to 1942, they lived at the company housing north of Mooreland. They moved into Mooreland in 1947. She worked at Oliver's Store in Woodward from 1949 to 1957, then worked in Mooreland for Dr. Ralph Triplett from 1957 to 1983 as a dental assistant. After retirement, the couple traveled. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Queen Easter Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are two sons, Norman of Sugar Land, Texas, and Jim of Lawton; four grandchildren; and six great – grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on September 22, 1987, two brothers and one grandson.
