Orlean Fiel, a former Woodward resident most recently of Cushing, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in the Linwood Village Nursing Home at the age of 90 years. Services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK and will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 11, 2009 in the Gnadenfeld Cemetery, Tangier, OK.

The daughter of the late Fred Schaeffler and Emma Lucas Schaeffler, Orlean was born on April 19, 1919 in Tangier, OK. Orlean was united in marriage to Sam G. Fiel on October 23, 1939 in Tangier, OK.

Orlean is survived by one daughter, Linda Gaither and her husband Harold of Perkins, OK; one son, Larry Fiel and his wife Janet of Livingston, TX; one sister, Lucille Crain of Woodward, OK; six grandchildren, Loraine Fiel, Sandra Longbrake and her husband Russell, Amy Innes and her husband Bill, Sam Gaither and his wife Angel, Jeannie Meador, and Jodi Metres and her husband Mike; nine great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Orlean was preceded in death by her husband Sam; one son, Jimmy Fiel; four sisters, Josephine Stricker, Esther Schaeffler, Marion Flock, and Faye Loghry; two brothers, Albert Schaeffler and Bill Schaeffler; and one special niece, Marilyn Craig.
