Interment: 3:00 PM Monday, November 30th, 2015 - Fairlawn Cemetery Maxine (Sunderland) Jamison was born in Meunster, Texas on April 8, 1920, to Phoebe (Foster) and George Sunderland. She left us on November 24, 2015, to spend eternity with Jesus. Maxine graduated from May High School and started working at the drug store in Fort Supply where she met Robert (Bob) Jamison. Their first date was on New Year’s Eve and, barely three months later, they were married on April, 2 1939. Bob preceded her in death in 2008, at which time they had enjoyed 69 years of marriage. We believe it was love at first sight!

Bob was appointed Postmaster at Fort Supply in 1950 and immediately hired Maxine as his clerk. They worked together in the post office for 22 years. When Bob retired, mother became the Postmaster and she retired in 1980. They enjoyed traveling by car across the country and visited most states, Canada and Mexico. They had one son, Bob, and two daughters, Donna and Brenda.

Mother became a Christian at the age of 10. She was an active member, and charter member, of the Fort Supply Baptist Church and taught the Women’s Sunday School Class for many years. She loved to sing and had a song for everything; her family couldn’t stump her when it came to songs, they would give her a word and she would have a song about it. She was faithful to teach her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren about the Bible and the power of prayer. She always said “Prayer changes things, let’s pray about it”. Her family is eternally grateful for a mother who had such a strong belief in Jesus Christ; she was indeed, the epitome of a Godly woman.

Maxine had a joyous homecoming with Jesus and, no doubt, the rejoicing continues with her husband Bob; her parents; her brother, George; sisters, Naomi Richardson; Betty Parkhurst; and Patty Denney; great-grandson, Cody Wiseman; Chase Jamison; and great-granddaughter, Claire Oshiro.

She is survived by her children, Bob Jamison and wife Pat; Donna Forlenza and husband Joel; Brenda Burgess; and a her niece, Karen Golden who was like a daughter and husband Lawrence; brother, Bill Sunderland and wife Loretta; sisters, Amelia Atkinson; Joyce Barnett and husband Carmon; grandchildren, Rocky Weder; Shelby Turner; Scott Thompson; Tammi Wiseman; Jodi Stanley; Mike Jamison; Troy Jamison; Chad Jamison; Kent Maxey; and Kami Oshiro; great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Joel Thompson; Tyson Weder, Carl Wiseman; Kade Khosravi; Kylee and Jace Stanley; Sean; TJ; and Matt Turner; Madison and Mason Maxey; Keira; Sydney; and Reagan Jamison; Hannah and Keene Jamison; A very special thank you to Jodi, Kade and Kylee who spent a great deal of time with her during her last six months on earth.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, November 30, 2015 in the Fort Supply Baptist Church with Reverend Todd White officiating. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Supply Baptist Church with the funeral accepting the contributions.
