Jan Marie Whiteneck

Miss Jan Marie Whiteneck, 19 daughter of Dr. and Mrs. (Virginia) Wilbur G. Whiteneck, 1200 Orchard Drive, Woodward, died early Saturday morning, Sept. 25, at the family home.
Miss Whiteneck had been ill with cystic fibrosis for sevral years, but continued to be active until her condition grew worse only a few days ago.
Funeral services for Miss Whiteneck were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 27, at the First Presbyterian church. The Rev. Raymond Heglin, pastor of the church, officiated and burial was in Elmwood cemetery, under the direction of Stecher Mortuary.
Jan Marie was a lifelong resident of Woodward, where she was born on March 25, 1952. She attended Woodward grade schools and was graduated from Woodward high school in 1970. While in high school she was a member of Peppers and Sub-Debs. She was also a member of the Presbyterian church.
Survivors are her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Whiteneck; an older sister, Jean Susan; and her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Leipart, also of Woodward; several aunts and uncles and a host of other relatives and friends. Her father, a Woodward dentist, is presently serving as an Oklahoma Highway Commissioner from this district.
The family has designated the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as a memorial for those who wish to contribute, with the Stecher Mortuary as custodian of the fund.


Daughter of District Highway Commissioner Dies Saturday
Woodward - The 19-year-old daughter of Oklahoma Highway Commissioner Wiblur G. Whiteneck died early Saturday morning in her home in Woodward.
Her funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the First Presbyterian Church of Woodward with Rev. E. Raymond Helgin officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Stecher Mortuary in Woodward.
Dr. and Mrs. Whiteneck have designated the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as a suitable memorial for their daughter.
Those who wish may make contributions through the Stecher Mortuary.
Miss Whiteneck was born in Woodward March 25, 1952, and graduated from Woodward High School in 1970. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Susan Jean of the home; by her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Charles H. Leipart of Woodward and serveral aunts and uncles including Dr. Otho Whiteneck of Enid.
Pallbeares were: Rhonald Whiteneck II, Don Whiteneck, Dr. Otho Whiteneck II, Keith Whiteneck, Robert Whiteneck, Charles Leipart, Jr. (Note: all the Whitenecks listed are Jan's cousins)
