Keith Leon Story

August 11, 1948 - February 12, 2023

Keith L. Story, 74 year old Sharon resident, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2023 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Keith Leon Story was born on August 11, 1948 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Cyrus Virgil and Rosa Naomi (Stewart) Story. Keith grew up west of Sharon and graduated from Sharon High School. He attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and received his Bachelors degree in Industrial Arts Education. Keith served as a Staff Sergeant in the Oklahoma National Guard before being honorably discharged. He was united in marriage to Mona Dee Frye on April 23, 1971 in Weatherford, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Weatherford before moving to Sharon. Keith worked as a Farmer, Rancher and Woodworker all of his life and loved all of it.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, story telling and taking walks around the pond with his dog Katy, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter Kyrie.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mona Story of the home; one son, Tray Story of Sharon; one daughter, Stacy Kindred and husband Donnie of Woodward; ex son-in-law, Danny Tapia of Woodward; one granddaughter, Kyrie Tapia of Woodward; one brother, Jerry Story and wife Norma of Sharon; brother-in-law, Gary Bowser of Woodward; other relatives and many friends.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Wayne Story, a special cousin, Dale Story, great nephew, Chandler Sandoval, great nephew Christopher Mustain, sister Sue Story Forrest, sister-in-law Lovilla Bowser, and his in-laws, Garnett and Thurlene Frye.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, ALS research with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
