Eugene Judson Stocking was born on March 14, 1925 on the family farm in Woodward County, Oklahoma; he was the son of Orin Dole and Prudy Mae (Phillips) Stocking. Gene grew up on the farm surrounded by family. He attended the Indian Creek Elementary school and then Sharon High School until due to World War II he left school to work on the family farm.

They made their home on the farm southeast of Woodward, where they lived their entire married life. Gene would have chosen no other life than farming and ranching, he was truly happiest when working.

Gene loved his family and always enjoyed attending family functions whether it was a family holiday or one of his children’s, grandchildren’s or great-grandchildren’s events. He was always there with a smile.

He was one of the oldest living members of Woodward First Baptist Church.

Gene is survived by his son, Gary Stocking and wife Tina of Woodward; daughter, Judy Boyer of Shawnee, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Kevin Boyer and wife Susan; Joel Stocking and wife Carol; Jason Boyer and wife Melissa; Matt Stocking; Jacob Boyer; great-grandchildren, Shealynn Stocking; Garett Stocking; Grady Stocking; Knox Stocking; Timothy Boyer and wife Rachael; Ashley Boyer; Lexie Boyer; Jaxson Boyer; Kingston Boyer; Bryson Boyer; other family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nettie Jean, and one brother and one infant sister.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Woodward First Baptist Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
