Lavone McCaskey Smith

Funeral services for Lavone Smith, age 82, of Wakita, are 10:00 am, Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Miller officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 pm in the Elmwood Cemetery, Woodward, Oklahoma. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Lavone was born March 31, 1939 near Fairview, Oklahoma to Bert and Icy (Wilcox) McCaskey, and passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021 in Wakita, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage with Grubbs Smith in 1982, and they made their home in Enid, Oklahoma.

She is preceded in death by her son, Larry; grandson, Chase; sister, Patsy Stephens, and daughter-in-law Terri Smith.

She will be deeply missed by son Sterling Shepherd and wife Christi, of Wakita, OK; daughter, Tonya Gray and husband Stuart, of Springfield, TN; step-sons, Michael Smith and wife Sherri, of Keene, TX; Elver Smith, of Burleson, TX; step-daughter, Deanda Jones and husband Louis, of Jay, OK; brother, JC McCaskey and wife Pam; sisters Roberta Morrison and Ginger Osborne. She also leaves 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial contributions in Lavone’s name may be made to Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
