Glennys Ardell Neagle Shillings

Glennys Ardell (Neagle) Shillings, at 91 years old took her last breath on Dec 7th 2021 at her home in Woodward OK. She was taken from this Earth by the Good Lord. Glennys was born March 22, 1930 to Homer and Nellie Neagle in Mutual, OK. She was one of seven children born to the Neagles.

She married Marvin Sears and together they had two children: Gary Sears of Toppenish, WA and Brent Sears of Woodward, OK. Together they made a home in Woodward. After being single for many years she moved to Guymon, OK where she met Jesse Shillings. They married and made their home in Woodward. Jesse brought his three daughters into the marriage; Cindy Gutierrez, Brenda Gregg, and Ginger Stahlman.

Glennys loved to sing and play the piano. She sang in the choir at the Methodist Church and sang with the Red Carpet Singers. She loved to travel to the Northwest, Florida, California, and other sites in the U.S. She loved watching her boys play sports at Kids Inc. Her favorite pastime was watching football and basketball on tv and gardening was her passion.

She was a professional business woman in the saving & loan profession. She started as a loan officer and cashier at Woodward S&L to a branch manager in Guymon, OK. After moving back to Woodward, she became the assistant branch manager and loan director at the newly formed Homestead S&L Assoc. She retired at the age of 66.

Glennys is survived by her two sons Gary (Nila) Sears and Brent (Pamela) Sears, brother Robert Neagle, sister Mary Nell Graves (Joe) from Hutchinson, KS. Grandchildren and great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Proceeded her in death is her parents Homer & Nellie Neagle, four brothers Lyle Neagle, Merle Neagle, Dale Neagle and Louis Neagle, husband Jesse Shillings.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, December 13, 2021 in the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Shannon Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
