Mary Ruth Harris Shero

December 21, 1935 ~ March 1, 2019

God blessed this world with Mary Ruth on December 21, 1935 in Slayton, Texas. She was the second in line for Odessa and Ewell Harris. Mary’s childhood was spent in Azle, Texas. Early in life she was wed to Charles Markum and of this union was born Connie Oneta, Mary Deloris, Marlene Odessa, and Sandra Naomi.

In 1983, Mary gave her heart to Paul David Shero and this union enlarged their family with Mary Paulette, Paul David, Donnia Lynn, and Tammy Wynette. Mary and Paul spent ten years of their marriage driving long hauls. They shared their lives and families with love and joy and they found great joy in showing their love of Jesus to everyone they met.

Mary loved the church and she also loved to crochet, paint, fish, but most of all she loved being with her family.

Mary went into the arms of Jesus and those greeting her

Those left to remember her and tell her story are her daughters, Connie Cummings, Mary Bennett, Marlene Markum, Sandra and Doug Hurley, son Paul David and Maria Shero, 100 year old mother Odessa Harris, sisters Peggy Brentley, Valeta and Jack Backer, Beverly and Frankie Rice, grandchildren Charles Pearson, Tori Hurley, Stacy Howard, Brian Bennett, Olivia Pauley, Samantha Hurley, Savannah Lewis, Jeff Acox, and Joel Hurley, 23 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

Mary went into the arms of Jesus and those greeting her, her grandmother Beatrice Martin, father Ewell Harris, aunt Oneta Jones, her loving husband Paul Shero, daughters Mary Paulette and Tammy Wynette, brother Bobbie Harris, sister Sharon Dale, son in law LB Bennett, grandsons Christopher Edmond and Robert Stout, and great great grandson Landon Taylor.

Mary Ruth will be great missed by numerous friends and family.
