Woodward – the funeral for Gladys Myrtle Gregory, 87, who died Tuesday at a Woodward hospital, will be 10:30 AM Friday at Fifth Street Church of Christ in Woodward. The Reverend James Rucker will officiate. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Good Samaritan Funeral Service.
Mrs. Gregory was born August 10, 1898, in Polo, Missouri, to Wiley and Olive Mayes. She moved with the family to Vonton community, southeast of Woodward, in 1901. In 1920, she and B. C. Gregory were married. They made their home in Woodward where she was a member of the Fifth Street Church of Christ and active with the American Legion Auxiliary. She also was a member of the Iris Garden Club.
Survivors include three sisters – in – law, Leona Mayes, Woodward, Dursey Mayes, Boise, Idaho, and Chloie Gregory, Missoula, Montana; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, B. C., In 1967.
