ALBERT CARL COPELAND

December 3, 1946 - May 17, 2018

Albert Carl Copeland, 71 year old resident of Woodward, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2018 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Lance Osborn officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward.

Albert Carl Copeland was born December 3, 1946 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Carl and Lowberta Maxine (Ball) Copeland. He attended Woodward Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1965. He joined the National Guard Army in May of 1965 and was a proud member for 41 years before retiring in 2006. He was a cook in the National Guard and was especially proud of the time he and fellow members won the cooking contest and then also competed in the Las Vegas cook off. He had two jobs during his life, working for Denny’s Roofing from 1967 until 1987 and also at Weatherford ALS from 1987 until May of 2015, when he retired.

Albert enjoyed fishing and going to garage sales with family. He was a big fan of John Wayne and loved watching old western movies. He also liked watching war movies and wrestling. He was a collector of many things, including guns and old foreign coins., He also enjoyed playing scratch off cards and playing slot machines from time to time. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He loved all animals and enjoyed their companionship.

He was preceded in death by his mother Lowberta Holmes, brothers Robert Copeland and Cleo Semmel and nephew Shannon Noreuil.

He is survived by brother Don Copeland of Ocala, Florida; sister Evelyn Rhoden and husband Robert of Muskogee, Oklahoma; sister Gloria Pack and husband Tom of Woodward; special nephew, Chris Noreuil of Woodward; many other family relatives and friends. His little dog Pumpkin whom he loved very much.

He left many memories for us to cherish. He will be missed so very much.
