Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Janet Fitz officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Edna Mae (Crain) Conine was born May 31, 1947 in Woodward, Oklahoma to John and Anna (Boyle) Crain. Edna grew up on her family farm west of Woodward. Edna attended elementary school at Tangier Public Schools then later attended Woodward where she then graduated from Woodward High School in May of 1965. She was united in marriage to Mike Conine on July 10, 1965 at the First Christian Church in Woodward. To this union they were blessed with two daughters, Melissa Michele born August 20, 1975 and Meleah Marie born September 9, 1982. They made Woodward their life long home.

Edna worked at Woodward Cable then later at Woodward Savings and Loan. In March of 1973 with her husband Mike’s dream of owning their own business Okie Exterminating Company was started. Edna partnered with Mike to run a successful business until Mike’s passing in May of 2016. With them owning their own business this allowed her to be a stay at home mom and then later as Grammie to her grandchildren Kaidan Marie and Zachary Michael. She loved working in the yard, gardening, reading, and cooking.

She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Conine and fiancé’ Kevin Devine of Woodward, Meleah Conine of Woodward; two grandchildren, Kaidan and Zachary Conine of Woodward; one sister Fannie Taylor of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law Lucille Crain of Woodward; brother-in-law Dee Conine and wife Marilyn of Sallisaw; and many other relatives and many close family friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Mike, her parents John and Anna Crain, brother HR Crain, brother-in-law Lee Taylor and one niece Pam Crain.

The family wishes to thank the care that Edna received the past few months from the staffs of Alliance Health Woodward and Deaconess, Grace Living Center, Dr. Frank Evans, and Stillwater Family Care.

Memorial contributions may be made to local food pantries with funeral home accepting the contributions on behalf of the family.
