Woodward, Okla. — Lena Pauline Busby, 91 year old Woodward resident, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the Grace Living Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2010 in the First Assembly of God Church with the Reverend Sheldon Riley and the Reverend Donnetta Hunter officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Lena Pauline Busby was born on February 14, 1919 in Adamsville, Tennessee to Manual and Mittie (Harris) Wright. She was reared in Adamsville and graduated from Adamsville High School in May of 1940. Pauline was united in marriage to Clifford Andrew Busby on April 3, 1946 in Hernando, Mississippi. They were blessed with three children, Arnold Wright, Noleta Kay and Stephen David. The family lived in Memphis, Tennessee, Merrit Island, Florida and El Paso, Texas, before moving to Alamogordo, New Mexico in 1962. Pauline worked as a waitress and later on was the owner of a café. She went to work for the White Sands National Park Service in Alamogordo, New Mexico, retiring in 1990. In July of 1995 she moved to Woodward, Oklahoma and has lived there since that time.

Pauline was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and had taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed cooking, reading, writing, and after receiving the Holy Ghost in May of 1948 Pauline loved telling people about Jesus and writing about Jesus. Pauline was a great woman of God who loved the Lord with great passion; she was a very loving and caring person who loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Arnold and wife LaVon Busby of Strasburg, Colorado; one daughter Noleta Sparkman and husband Leonard of Woodward; eight grandchildren: Suzanna Sparkman, Donna O'Hern, Colleen Bassoukos, Paul Busby, Jessica Busby, Mike Connell and John Connell; twelve great-grandchildren: Nathan Lewis, Heather Lewis, Stephen O'Hern, Hannah O'Hern, John O'Hern, Ellena Bassoukos, Katrina Bassoukos, Brandon Busby, Alissa Busby, Dianna Connell, Mariah Connell, Catlin Connell; one great- great grandchild: Aydan Santillan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Manual and Mittie Wright, her husband Clifford Andrew Busby, son Stephen Busby, sisters, Marie Raines and Helen Pitchford, grandson Bryan Connell, and great-great grandson Adrian Santillan.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Assembly of God Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
