Woodward, Okla. — Duane “Sarge” Buck, 73 year old Woodward resident, died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the Woodward Church of Christ with Ray Don Jackson and James Bailey officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery with the United States Air Force providing full military honors. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Edward Duane Buck was born on August 23, 1940 in Caldwell, Idaho to Eddie and Mary Eugenia (Allison) Buck. Sarge attended school in the Caldwell and Bellevue, Idaho area. He was united in marriage to Charlene Rieth on April 20, 1958. They made their first home on March Air Force Base in California. They lived in various different places because of Sarge’s time in the military, including Columbus, Mississippi, Wiesbaden, Germany, Clinton Sherman Air Force Base, and Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico. After being honorably discharged after serving his country for over 20 years, the family moved to Woodward. Sarge worked for the City of Woodward in the Water Department and was a Bus Driver for the Woodward Public Schools.

Sarge was a member of the Woodward Church of Christ. He enjoyed target shooting, photography and conversing on his computer, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Charlene Buck of the home; daughters, Raegan Qualls of Edmond, Karma Martin of Houston, Missouri, Sherry Corrente and husband Tony of Oklahoma City; step-mother, Wyvena Buck of Idaho; grandchildren, Nathan McCubbin, Nicole McCubbin, Zach Qualls, Tyler Martin, Corbin Neubauer, Parker Corrente, Addison Corrente, Skylar Corrente, Aubree Corrente; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, step-dad and a grandson Sean Martin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Christ food pantry with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
