JOHN RICHARD BROWER

December 16, 1953 - June 15, 2018

John Richard Brower, Jr., 64-year-old Woodward resident, died Friday, June 15, 2018 in Woodward Hospital.

Born in Woodward on December 16, 1953, John was the third child of John R. Mickey? and Shirleinne (Fenimore) Brower. He grew up in Woodward and graduated from Woodward High School in 1972.

John had a long and successful career in newspaper circulation, retiring from the Dallas Morning News in 2013. John and his wife Vicki made their home in The Colony, Texas. After Vicki's death in August, 2013, John returned to Woodward, where he lived until his death.

John is survived by his father John R. Brower, Sr. (Lee) of Missouri City, Texas; two children Jon T. Brower (Kim) of McKinney, Texas and Jacki Gvozdich (Mike) of The Colony, Texas; sisters Linda Harrison of Woodward, Judy Clothier (Mike) of McKinney, Texas, and Lauri Hamilton (Jack) of Woodward; five grandsons: Ryan, Andrew, and Matthew Brower, Austin Strange, and Nick Gvozdich; and many other family members and friends.

John was preceded in death by his wife Vicki, his mother, and step-father Bud Jennings.

John will be interred at Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward. There will be no funeral service in Woodward; the family will gather in Dallas, Texas, for a private memorial service.
