Oneta (Imke) Borden Woodward, Okla. — Oneta Borden, 89 year old Woodward resident, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ray Blakley officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Oneta (Imke) Borden was born on February 17, 1922 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to C.J. and Ruth Imke. Oneta grew up on a farm south of Shattuck. She was united in marriage to Durward R. Borden on March 3, 1946. They made their home on a farm west of Mutual where they raised their family. They moved to Woodward in 1977 upon Durward’s retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Durward R. Borden in 1999, her parents, C.J. and Ruth Imke, a brother, Harold Imke and a brother-in-law, James C. Borden and his wife Pauline.

Oneta leaves behind her two daughters, Jo Ann Hintergardt of Ponca City, Karen Stephenson of Woodward; her grandchildren, Ryan Hintergardt of Alva, Michelle Gottschalk and her husband Caleb of Edmond, Marcus Stephenson and his wife Amber of Yukon and Nicole Stephenson of Woodward; her sister-in-law, Virda Imke of Shattuck and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Music Department with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
