Wanda B. Austin, 75 year old former Woodward resident, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005 in Ft. Worth, Texas. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2005 in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Wanda Bernice (Crowl) Austin was born May 3, 1930 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Melvin and Mary (Scott) Crowl. She grew up in the Tangier community and graduated from Tangier High School. On June 30, 1951, she married R.V. Austin Jr., they were married for more than fifty years. They had two daughters and one son. In 1960 they moved to Kansas. For many years Wanda worked at the Shallow Water School as head cook. It was a job she loved, one that allowed her to be where her children were. R.V. and Wanda were avid supporters of school and community ball teams; she never missed a game in which any of their children played. In 1975, they returned to Woodward to make their home. There, Wanda was active among Tangier alumni, and she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Most recently Wanda lived close to family in Keene, Texas.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother-in-law, R.V. and Ruby Austin, her husband R.V. on August 28, 2001; three brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna "Dee" Radar and husband Haven of Woodward; Judi Jones and husband Steve of Keene, Texas; one son Terry Austin of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren, Amanda Rader Fullmer and husband Elliot of Bloomfield, New Mexico; Megan Rader Taylor and husband Brian of Burlington, Washington; Roy Rader of Woodward; Evan and Leslie Jones of Keene, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Danielle and Samantha Fullmer; Austin Taylor; one brother, Donald Crowl of Woodward; one brother-in-law, Jerry Austin; four sisters-in-law, Margaret Austin, Leona Austin, Myrta Austin Paph, Zelpha Austin Binder, and numerous nieces and nephews. _________
