After retirement, Jerry and Margaret joined the mission field in Malawi. After serving as missionaries for 6 years, Jerry and Margaret returned to the states and settled on the Austin land just 20 miles southwest of Woodward, Oklahoma. Jerry worked hard at building their home, raising cattle, and caring for Margaret until her death in 2006. Jerry continued to raise cattle until he was 98 years old.
