ORVAL E. PATTON

Woodward, Okla. - Orval E. Patton, 91 year old longtime Mooreland area resident, died Saturday, October 18, 2008 in the Mooreland Heritage Manor. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2008 in the Curtis Cemetery with Harry Billings officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home in Mooreland on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Orval Elwood Patton was born on September 27, 1917, the 6th child of 7 children to Raymond Vanlieu and Della (Case) Patton in the Haskew Community. Orval was reared in the Haskew Community and attended school at Pleasant Hill. He lived his entire life in the Haskew, Curtis and Mooreland area.

Orval was united in marriage to Venita Alice Ingraham in Ashland, Kansas on January 4, 1941. This union was blessed with one son, Gary Ray.

He is survived by one son, Gary Patton and wife Addie of Mooreland; one grandson, Mark Patton and wife Beth of Mooreland; two great-granddaughters, Ashley Nikole and Sarah Renee Patton; one sister, Lelda Blanche Holloway; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Della Patton, his wife Venita on June 13, 2008, two brothers, Clarence Marvin and Roy Wayne Patton, three sisters, Ollie Pauline Patterson, Evalena Marjorie Kerfoot and Sylvia Cynthia Handley, two sisters-in-law, Alma Lovenia Patton, Lyda Patton; two brothers-in-law, Clifford Clay Patterson and Lowell Ray Holloway.
