June 16, 2008 NORMA GARVIN Anonymous The Woodward News Mon Jun 16, 2008, 02:00 PM CDT Woodward, Okla. — Norma Garvin, 69 year old Mooreland resident, died Friday, June 13, 2008 at her home in Mooreland. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008 in the First United Methodist Church in Mooreland with the Reverend David Mercer officiating. Interment will be in the Cedardale Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home in Mooreland on Monday, June 16, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Norma Pearl (Bradshaw) Garvin was born March 22, 1939 at her parents home in Cederdale, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Pearl Sabina (Smith) and Charles Finley Bradshaw. After graduating from Quinlan High School in 1957, Norma attended secretarial school in Omaha, Nebraska and took a job in Washington DC upon completion of the course until returning to Oklahoma in the spring of 1960. Norma made her home in Mooreland and worked at the Mooreland Hospital as a nurse and in the pharmacy for many years. She also enjoyed working at the City Hall in Mooreland. She was united in marriage to Arvin Garvin on May 9, 2004 at their home in Mooreland. They enjoyed many things together, especially traveling.vNorma loved the Lord and taught her children about his love and mercy. Her door was always open and her home was always full of laughter as she played cards and games with her children, family and friends. Norma was affectionately called Mom or Grandma by all of her neighbors and friends.. She loved being with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Arvin Garvin of the home; son Greg Willingham and wife Mary of Hot Springs, Arkansas; son Kevin "Pete" Willingham of Salem, Oregon; daughter Alisa Nelson and husband Randy of Woodward; daughter Debra Little and husband Doug of Rosston; son Bryan Covalt and wife Janet; grandchildren, Stacie Kahoe, Valorie Kirkby, Cristi Winn, Trevor Willingham, Kristin Covalt, Erin McGuire, Joshua McGuire, and Jacob McGuire; Adam Nelson, Brandi Elwood, Caleb Nelson, Staci Nelson, David Nelson, Daniel Nelson; Shane and Jami Helton and children; Aaron Helton and children; Holly and Brandon Morris and children; great-grandchildren Dillon Kahoe, Cheyenne Kahoe; Koby Mingus, Savannah Mingus; Taylor Winn, Abigail Winn; Emily Nelson and Rowdy Nelson; many other loving relatives and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Maurice Dean Bradshaw and husband Billy Don Covalt in 1994.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Children‚s Merch Hospital, Kidney Center or the Mooreland United Methodist Church.
