To the memory of James L. Ross, who died at his parents' home in Whitehorse, Oklahoma, April 21, 1898, after a painful and protracted illness of 73 days, which he bore with great patience and fortitude. He had realized for some time that he must soon die, and seemed to be reconciled to go. This is the first time Mr. and Mrs. Ross have ever been called upon to part with any of their immediate family, and he was a general favorite as son and brother. They have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in their loss.... The funeral services of J.L. Ross last Tuesday were conducted by Reverend Cline. It was by far the largest gathering ever in this community.
