Waynoka--The funeral for Wilbur Lee Melrose, 67, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Church of God in Waynoka. The Rev. John Brint will officiate. Burial will be in the Waynoka Cemetery under direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
He was born Oct. 8, 1927, in McWillie, OK to Alfred and Jennie Whiteneck Melrose and died Monday, Jan. 30, 1995, at his home in Waynoka. He worked for Boeing Aircraft at Wichita, Kan., and later worked for the Oklahoma Highway Department until retirement.
On May 9, 1952, he married Mary Lou Jackson at Waynoka. He was a memebr of Waynoka Church of God.
Surviving are his mother, Jennie Newton of Waynoka; one son, Jimmy; one daughter, Melinda Melrose; two brothers, Charles Newton of Fairview and James Newton of Anthony, Kans; and three sisters, Velma Dyer of Ringwood, Ann Hague and Robert Roberts, both of Woodward.
Memorial may be made through the funeral home to the church.
