Deceased: Ethelyn Virginia Nicholson, 88, Waynoka

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Dec. 23, at the Waynoka Elm and Murrow Church of Christ with Darrell Edwards officiating. Interment was in the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka.

Ethelyn Virginia Nicholson, daughter of the late Thomas Benton and Hazel Sarah (Davidson) Wilcox, was born July 21, 1918, northwest of Cleo Springs in Alfalfa County, Okla., and passed away Dec. 20, 2006 in Enid. On July 15, 1938, she was united in marriage to William Arthur Nicholson at Aline Christian Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, on May 4, 2006; three brothers, and three sisters.

Ethelyn is survived by one son; one brother, one grandson; one granddaughter; other relatives and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Elm and Murrow Church of Christ.

The funeral for William Arthur "Bill" Nicholson, 91, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Elm and Murrow Church of Christ, Waynoka. Darrell Edwards and Ray Hull will officiate. Burial will be in Waynoka Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home, Waynoka.

He was born Jan. 7, 1915, near Highland, to William Henry and Mary Jane Bonnett Nicholson and died Thursday, May 4, 2006, at Share Medical Center, Alva.

He attended Highland and Walnut Grove schools. At age 10, he moved with his family to a farm southeast of Waynoka, where he farmed and ranched until he retired and moved into Waynoka.

He married Ethelyn Virginia Wilcox July 15, 1938, in Aline. He was a member of Elm and Murrow Church of Christ.

Surviving are his wife, Ethelyn of Waynoka; one son, Tommy Nicholson of Woodward; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters and two granddaughters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Elm and Murrow Church of Christ.
