Graveside funeral services for Kenneth Lee Johnson, 72, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Waynoka Cemetery with the Rev. Gail Edmison officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Goodwin Funeral Home of Cherokee.

Kenneth was born January, 18, 1940 on a farm Northwest of Waynoka, Oklahoma, the son of Burrell and Dorothy Johnson, and passed away Friday, September 7, 2012 in Watonga, Oklahoma. He graduated from Rose Valley High School.

He and Lindia Wilson were married June 18, 1959. She preceded him in death in 2005.

He worked as a harvest hand and at Adams Hardfacing in Guymon. He moved to Greenfield and worked for Amoco Oil Company which he retired from. He then moved to Waynoka and opened a pet store. He later moved to Watonga.

He cared for his elderly parents and invalid wife for many years before their death. He loved animals and liked to fish, which he passed on to his children and grandchildren.

He was a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church, had served on the Waynoka City Council and bowled on a bowling league.

Surviving are his children; Dale Brown (Tami) of Corvallis, Oregon, Mark Johnson (Shawn) of Watonga and Denise (Jimmy Ketterman) of Shattuck; two brothers, Jack Johnson (Idabel) of Shawnee and Bob Johnson (Juanita) of Amorita; brother-in-law, Bud Lockhart (Donna) of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Rebecca (Larry King) of Lahoma and Mona Sims of Weatherford; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Lockhart.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon.

A graveside service for Lindia Lee Johnson, 62, of Cherokee, OK., will be 1 p.m. Friday at Waynoka Municipal Cemetery. The Rev. Gail Edmison will officiate. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home, Waynoka, OK.

She was born Jan. 5, 1943, in Asher, to Joseph Layafette and Pearl May Hickman Wilson and died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, in Alva, OK.

She attended school in Guymon, OK. She married Kenneth Johnson June 18, 1959 in Guymon. They lived in Waynoka, OK. several years before moving to Helena, OK., Goltry, OK., and then to Cherokee, OK. in 2004.

She worked as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Morningstar Baptist Church, Waynoka.

Surviving are her husband, Kenneth of Cherokee, OK.; two sons, Mark Johnson of Watonga, OK., and Dale Brown of Corvallis, Ore.; one daughter, Denisa Ketterman of Goltry, OK.; three sisters, Madenia Elrod of Guymon, OK., Dalcenia Papay of Greenfield, OK., and Felicia Waldaum of Ulysses, KS.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Cherokee Manor Activity Fund.
