August 30, 1953 ~ September 16, 2022

David Donovan, 69 year old Woodward resident, passed away Friday, September 16, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the Waynoka Cemetery in Waynoka, Oklahoma with Reverend Donnetta Hunter officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Army.

David Lynn Donovan was born on August 30, 1953 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Virgil and Anna (Gross) Donovan. He attended Woodward schools until 10th grade then later earned his GED. He enlisted in the United States Army on September 30, 1970. He worked as an Engineer in the Army and served in Vietnam.

His hobbies included riding electric bikes, singing, making videos, traveling, and driving. He enjoyed science and doing research, he was interested in green energy and kinetic energy, and tinkering with technology. He was always thinking of his daughters and trying to plan for their care and futures. He enjoyed sending Suzane videos of him singing and scientific discoveries. David loved to travel.

He is survived by daughters Deanna Swinford and spouse Jeremy; Shelly Tate and spouse Nathan; Suzane Cary and spouse Justin; brothers Nick Peacock, Alan Peacock, and Donald Donovan and spouse Anita; grandchildren: Alaina, Kaylee, Rylee, Trevor, Jaydon, Connor, Brittannie, and Nathen; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters and brothers Eleanor, Janice, Holly, Pauline, Andrew, Carolyn Peacock, and Lary Donovan.
