Funeral services for Drew Alan Longhurst will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at the Alva Wesleyan Church with Pastor John Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Union Center Cemetery near Dacoma under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Drew Alan Longhurst, son of Gerald Longhurst and the late Carolyn (Link) Longhurst, was born March 22, 1966, at Alva, Oklahoma, and passed away August 6, 2017, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 51 years, 4 months and 14 days.

Drew lived in the Alva area all of his life, graduating from Alva High School. He then received his bachelor of science degree in history from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He helped his family on the farm. He loved all sports, especially college football, and was a huge University of Oklahoma supporter.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Longhurst.

Drew is survived by his father, Gerald Longhurst of Alva; one brother, Shawn Longhurst and wife, Mona, of Cherokee; two nephews, Joshua Longhurst and wife, Mary, of Alva, and Landon Longhurst of Denver, Colorado; one niece, Lindsay Longhurst of Alva; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Alva Wesleyan Church.
