Funeral services for Alice Rachel Smith Shook were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dacoma Church of God. Burial was in Preston Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Shook was born May 29, 1941 and died February 13, 2008 in Cherokee. She is a graduate of Farry Consolidated School and cosmetology school in Wichita, Kan.
Survivors include her husband, Wilburn; three daughters, Gladys Bradford, Rebecca Bebermeyer and Becky Shook; a brother, Glen Smith of Carmen; a sister, Wilma Goodman of El Reno; three granddaughters and two great-grandsons.

Funeral services for Wilburn Lee Shook were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at the Alva Church of God with Pastor Nathan Braudrick officiating. Interment followed in the Preston Hill Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Wilburn Lee Shook, son of the late James Wilburn and Georgia Mae (Noblitt) Shook, was born June 15, 1934, at Cloudcroft, New Mexico, and passed away February 1, 2019, at Cleo Springs, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 16 days. Wilburn attended several schools across the United States before graduating from Freedom High School. He then served in the United States Army for two years and was stationed in Germany for a time. After his discharge, he played minor league baseball with the Pampa Oilers for two years. On December 19, 1958, he was united in marriage to Alice Rachel Smith at the Cedar Grove Wesleyan Church in Woods County, Oklahoma. They moved to Atlantic City, Wyoming, where he was a diesel mechanic for the U.S. Steel Iron Ore Company until his retirement. They then returned to Oklahoma in 1973. He was a member of the International Order of Operating Engineers.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; one brother, Wes; one sister, Shanda, and one granddaughter, Rebecca Shook.

Wilburn is survived by two daughters, Gladys Bradford of Dacoma, and Rebecca Warfield and husband, Austin, of Cleo Springs; three granddaughters, Cassie Ging and husband, Trent, of Helena, Michele Edster and husband, Jacob, of Cherokee, and Amanda Harmon of Alva; seven great grandchildren, Payton, Paxton, Paisley, Presley, Kinsley, Kolt, and Jae'Lyn.
