Memorial services for Floyd Herren will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Floyd Wayne Herren, son of Amos Floyd and Viola Christina (Wilson) Herren, was born September 4, 1937, at Watts, and passed away March 26, 2020, at Enid, at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 22 days.

After graduating high school, he was united in marriage to Rose Elaine Cottrill on April 21, 1962, in Alva. They made their home in Driftwood for a few years before moving to Alva. He lived in Alva the past 53 years. He worked many jobs including Woods County and Alfalfa County as a heavy equipment operator. Floyd enjoyed fishing and hunting and could tinker on about anything.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rose.

Floyd is survived by his son, Monty Herren and wife, Teresa, of Avard; two daughters, Pamela Merrill and husband Myron of Fairview, and Tracy Putnam and Tony Southwick of Okmulgee; six grandchildren, Amber Edwards and husband Taylor of Fairview, Myron Merrill of Fairview, Shandi Haight and husband Jarrod of Stillwater, Sabra Kimery and husband Michael of Alva, Kevin Herren of Norman, and Samantha Herren of Avard; 11 great-grandchildren, Saigen, Ryder, Lincoln, Jaden, Kamrynn, Ashton, Ainsley, Addisyn, Abel, Deakin, and Kullyn; two brothers, Clifford Herren of Alva, and Dean Herren of Dacoma; other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Asthma research.

Funeral services for Rose Elaine Herren will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007, at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Mendenhall, pastor of the Fairview First Baptist Church, officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Rose Elaine Herren, daughter of the late Leslie Lee and Viola Fawn (Terrill) Cottrill, was born September 15, 1941, at Freedom, and passed away June 13, 2007, at Enid.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dewayne and Virgil Cottrill.

Rose is survived by her husband, Floyd, of Alva; one son, Monty Herren and his wife, Teresa, of Avard; two daughters, Pam Merrill and her husband, Myron, of Fairview, and Tracy Putnam of Okmulgee; one sister, Maxine Bridwell, of Enid; six grandchildren, Amber Merrill, Myron Merrill II, Kevin Herren, Samantha Herren, Shandi Putnam, and Sabra Putnam; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Asthma research.
