Preston Hill Cemetery


Leonard Harth, 64, 1717 W. Randolph, died Sunday morning in a Ponca City hospital.

His service will be at 10 AM Thursday in Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Grappe officiating.

Graveside service will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday in Preston Hill Cemetery at Farry with the Rev. Glenn McMurphy officiating. Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Harth was born March 7, 1916, at Teagarden, and spent his earlier years in that area. He graduated from the Farry, Oklahoma, high school, and attended college at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Alva.

Harth was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army. He married Dorothy Steffey May 1, 1943, at Alva. The couple moved to Enid in 1946.

Harth had worked at various jobs at Union Equity, and at the time of his death was working at Elevator Z. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.

Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Colson, Waukomis; two grandchildren; his mother, Fern A. Harth, Alva; four brothers, Ollie and Eddy, both of Alva, Harold Dean, Arkansas City, Kansas, and Lytle Bennie, Dexter, Kansas; and four sisters, Hazel Wagoner, Wellington, Kansas, Fayetta Acord, Iva Lou McDonald and Fern Ann Wendling, all of Alva.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert W. Harth.
