Verl D. Fox, 70

Mr. Fox was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth on April 30, 1941, and Amos on Jan. 29, 1962.

Verl is survived by his wife, Nona of the home; a daughter, Verleen Schwerdtfeger of Alva; two sons and their wives, Rocky and Beth of Alva and Stoney and Sayuri of Odessa, Texas; a step-daughter and her husband, Ruby and Larry Keahey of Medicine Lodge, Kan.; a step-son and his wife, Bryan and Becky Ackley of Fargo, N.D.; five grandchildren, Shawn, Stephen, Ruth Anne, Heather, Kristi and her husband Michael Nelson; a great grandson, Joshua Nelson; six step-grandchildren, Kevin, Caitlin, and Colin Ackley, Alan and his wife Melanie McKinley, and Melissa and her husband Steve Conrady. He is also survived by a sister and her husband, Gladis and George (Bud) Mayes of Alva; his mother-in-law, Irene Hopper of Alva; and a close, best friend and his wife, Clyde and Marquetta McKinley of Longdale; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Dec. 28 at the Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva. The eulogy will be given by Landis Trekell, minister, Barnes Street Church of Christ. Interment will be in Preston Hill Cemetery, Alva. Wharton Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Contributions may be made in his memory to Share Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
